In Maths this week, we carried out an investigation to find out the surface area of the biggest cube you could fit into an A3 paper (with the A3 paper acting as a wrapping paper.) We did trial and error and with a lot of perseverance we managed to make a perfect fit. To change the level of difficulty, we did different size cubes.
this week in maths we have been doing rounding. we rounded numbers to the nearest ten and some of us even rounded to the nearest 100. the rule for rounding is you round numbers 5 and above up and numbers 4 and below down.
In maths we have been learning about decimals using money adding and take away money we also had been be doing 1 question but has 2 problems that involve money to find out what the answer is that links to our literacy.
Us in Yr 2 are looking at rounding and we tried to make number scentences which the answer had to be a number. Can you find 10 different ways to make 680? (This is for Yr 3-Yr6)😄
in maths club I really enjoyed learning more mental maths to a song and adding from a dart board. what I would like to do more off problem solving, angles and decimals and fractions.
Make me a jack in a box with 9 equal squares. But you lose the jack.So you get a dolly and dress it up as a jester. How many times do you use the 9 squares and what do you use them for?
I am at a concert and I bring three friends (if Lara is reading this, a one direction concert) Then I meet two other friends at the shops. They all want ice cream so how many ice creams do I have to buy?
In maths this week, we have been doing maths problems with the column method, grid method and today we are doing chunking and bus stop method for division.

100x6+80=680 500+100+80=680 400+ 200+80= 680 900+80-300=680 300x2+80=680#
Deletewhy dont you try and do 8 ways to make 656
600+80 679+1 601+79 640+40 680+0 690-10 680x1 340x2 1360 divided by 2 602+78
