In year 4 red we have a book called 365 penguins. It's about penguins and a delivery that came for them. In the delivery, they were 365 penguins. One penguin came everyday of the year because there are 365 days in the year.

My best part was the page where there were lots of penguins and my class tried to count it to check if there were really 365 penguin. We still haven't found it yet. Do check back because we will let you know when you have found it.

One of the maths books we have been reading and enjoying in Year 5 is 'How Many Jelly Bean? It's about two children who get asked how many jelly beans they want. This quickly becomes a competition. The sister starts from five jelly beans and gradually they reach 10,000. Her brother asks if 10,000 jelly beans are too much, but he says he is going to share them with Fred, his dog. I like this book because in the end, there is a flip out page that shows 1,000,000 jelly beans. How did they get 1 million jelly beans on a page?

Our teacher read the book 'Have You Seen My Dragon' and we loved it. It is about counting from 1 to 20. So far we have read about 1 dragon to 13 ice-cream cones. I like the book because it helps me when I forget my counting. All the pages are in black and white, but I like how there is always another special colour. My favourite page is page 13 because it has pink ice-creams and pink is my favourite colour.

  14. In Year 3 we read the book 'Centipede's 100 shoes.' The books is about a centipede who hurts his foot and he goes to his mum who makes his foot better and then his mum went to buy him 100 shoes but they were too much. So he sold them to all creepy-crawlies with fewer legs. He sold shoes to 5 spiders, 4 beetles, 2 woodlice and a grasshopper...

I really like the book because it helps with multiplying and times table.
